Tomcat Adult and Teenage hand-propelled trike wins National bike tender in Norway
Tomcat Special Needs Innovation Ltd, is pleased to announce that against strong international competition the Tomcat Rotor and its teenage stablemate the Arrow Rotor won class 8 (Handcycle with electric power-assist) in the Norwegian National bike tender. Similar to our NHS, NAV is the Government body that supplies fully funded assistive aids to users throughout the country. The evaluation of the tender was based principally on quality, user suitability and price. Successful Organisations were notified in December 2019.
Tomcats distributor, Sunrise Medical, whose Head Office is based in Malsch, Germany but has a network of dealers and/or their own distributors in over 130 countries including Norway, is a leader in the development, design and manufacture and distribution of mobility aids. The world-renowned company submitted the Tomcat Rotor as part of the extensive 20 category bike tender In Norway; a flying start for a product still in its infancy.

About NAV
NAV administers a third of the national budget through schemes such as unemployment benefit, work assessment allowance, sickness benefit, pensions, child benefit and cash-for-care benefit.
Established on 1 July 2006. The local authorities and central government cooperate to find good solutions for users through 456 NAV offices in municipalities and city boroughs. Each local authority and NAV agree on what local authority services their office should provide. The services provided by a NAV office will thus vary from local authority to local authority.
