Innovations

Many options are available for the Skool cat, including, rear steering and braking (Carer Control™), access step, basket and carrier and Tomcats unique, Bionic Buddy, electric drive. This latter accessory is invaluable for riders with limited strength or stamina, or for steep ramps and inclines. Bionic buddy has a maximum speed of 3mph and can be rider or carer controlled.

Enclosed Drive.
The integrated drive mechanism neatly encapsulates the chain, sprockets, and switchable axle within the main frame, avoiding and eliminating all the usual chain issues and keeping it in prime condition for smooth and maintenance free running. An easy chain tension device is provided but should never be needed if the trike is protected from the weather. Please see the handbook for more information.

Sliding Saddle Rail.
The Sliding Saddle Rail provides 9cm of adjustment of the saddle in a forward/backward direction. It does this in three stages and is very easy to change but is free of all movement when secured in place. Movement of the saddle can alter the cycling geometry when beneficial, but is mainly used to adjust arm reach. The handlebars also assist with reach adjustment.

Escape Proof Footshoes.
As the name suggests, our new footshoes are bad news for escapologists but they offer much more than that. In fact, they are so versatile as standard, that they have three directions of adjustment, single strap and camlock operation, platform levelling, and can be supplied or retro-fitted with “plug in” leg supports (calipers) or toe straps.
